I have noticed that, in terms of capture, this site has the Canopus ADVC-100 Ranked #1 with no close contender. I have looked it up and tried to get information from thier main site but have been unable to get an answer to the following question:
Can the Canopus ADVC-100 take PAL input and capture/convert it to NTSC output???
Just in case someone here knows the answer.. thanks...

mainconcept will convert the file to ntsc, not as good as tmpg or cce but much quicker. Workes well with vhs captures.

The only hardware unit I know about that will give you PAL to NTSC conversion or vice versa "on the fly" is the ACE enhancer/converter.
I can recommend it highly. I have one myself, and in addition to converting you also have great controls over color, sharpness and other adjustments. It also acts as an TBC, thought not as good as an standalone one.
Works like a charm, and removes macrovision as well.
Here's the link, if anyone needs more info.
