First of all let me say I am a newbie to Digital Video. I have an ATI AIW Raedon 7500 and have successfully captured video from a VCR feed, edited out the commercials, and authored to a DVD. Problem is, I was only able to fit 2 45 min. episodes on to one DVD. (capturing at 5 M Bit/Second)
My understanding is that lowering the bitrate on the capture would allow me to capture at a slightly lower quality and fit more episodes onto one DVD. So I captured at 3 M Bit/Second and the clip seems just fine when I play it in Win Media Player, etc. But when I look at the clip in DVDLab or MPEGVCR, etc. It has no sound and appears not to have an audio stream??
My ultimate question is how to fit more episodes onto one DVD, but before that I guess is why does the audio seem to disappear when lowering the bitrate for capture - and why can I hear it in Media Player but not the editing utilities?
Totally clueless here.....please help!
