  1. I have an HP 315 digital camera (2.1 megapixel). I want to do one simple thing: transfer the photos from my hard drive to cd, with the intent of viewing the photos on a dvd player. First off, is it POSSIBLE to transfer these images to cd-r/rw and have the images in a format recognizable by the DVD player? O.K., you may say that it is possible to do VCD, but not SVCD. If so, is the quality of VCD very good? I have been looking at a CD burner with a full version of nero burning ROM 5.5? Will this program perform the task that I desire? The DVD player is a toshiba SD-K510, and I also have a pioneer DV-333. I understand that this is a very elementary question, but between the individuals I have talked to at computer stores, coupled with the quantity of file formats floating around, I have no choice but to post to this forum. Your consideration is greatly appreciated!

  2. If I were you, I'd buy a dvd burner instead! They are getting cheap!

I have the exact same camera. You'll need an intermediary program to make a video slideshow of sorts (studio 8 can do this). A VCD won't be the best quality, but I think it's acceptable.

  3. You could actually do it in Nero if you wanted to. I think there is a guide on this site on how to use Nero to make a VCD slide show.

There are a bunch of tools that ytou could use. Windows Movie Maker 2 will create a slide show as well.

Just figure out before you really start getting into this if you want to do a DVD or VCD, possibly do a VCD version of what you want, look at the quality and see if it is acceptable.

Here is a link to the Nero VCD slideshow guide:

Also, don't forget to look at the GUIDES to the left, there are other options there as well that might fit into what you want.
