Hello.
So i use DVD2AVI to frameserv my movie file to CCE for re-encoding. Do you folks ever use filters when you re-encode? Some DVDs are pretty bad from the begining, noise and grainy picture. I Usually deselect the lowpass and effect vertical filter in CCE.
Any comment on filters?
Pherhaps run it trough Virtualdub (you'll probably say "use avisynt", but i find virtual dub a little more userfriendly) and apply filters before CCE, I don't know but comment are welcome.

I use Vdub and use deinterlace filter (usually doing VCD to DVD), then resize filter to 720x480 in Vdub using Lanczos3 resizing and get great results.

Thanx for your answer, but i thought i would be clear as i mean dvd --> dvd as we're in this part of the forum.

Have you tried DVD shrink or Pinnacle Instant copy so you don't have to re-encode ? The redo of a DVD won't be better than the source, especially after re-encoding. That is what I meant by using Vdub to frameserve, I use some of the filters to smooth and clean up artifacts if the original isn't great.

Yes but movie is still "just" 5-7gigs most of the times. And sometimes if you are lucky you get and dvd9 where the "MOVIEFILES" are less than 4,3gig
