For the past several months now I have been buying TDK 2x DVD-R at Costco
They have a new package of 8 which costs $24.50 Canadian plus Tax

I find the TDK media has excellent write qualities on My Sony DRU500 AX and I prefer it over other brands just my opinion . I am not attempting to start a discussion on media there is a stickey which covers that. I am only pointing out a good source for quality DVD media which is somewhat limited in selection in the Canadian Stores at a reasonable price

that is expensive i believe .. i pay 1.14 US per ritek g03 (1.27 including shipping and tax) online from the states ... that is $1.95 CND per disk .. or $15.60 CND for 8 .. but to be fair -- i buy 500 at a time .. still its not a lot more for 100 at a time ..
if i could buy them in canada at that price -- i would most likely..

not bad -- but princo are not riteks -- nor are they printable (i buy only printable)

i looked at thier site and only bulk dvd-r i see is
    94049-I VERBATIM CORPORATION 20PK DVD-R MEDIA 4.7GB DATALIFE+ THERMAL PRINTABLE SPINDLE $378.50
    94613-I VERBATIM CORPORATION 50PK DVD-R 4X MEDIA 4.7GB GENERAL SHINY SURFACE SPINDLE $167.00
    BEN030202-I E3 WORKS INC DVD+R 25 PACK TUBE 4X DVD MEDIA $56.50
    BAN030201-I E3 WORKS INC DVD-R 25 PACK TUBE 4X DVD MEDIA $56.50

which looks mighty expensive for printable and i have no clue what E3 Works is ..

add gst and pst on top of that plus shipping plus 3% for CC purchase..

  5. If you want to look for spindle packs, ebay can be a great place to get them. That's where I got a 100 pack of Princo discs for under $200 CDN.

One of the main reason I posted this was to advise members of cheap effective media, that can be purchased in the Toronto area.TDK works well no coasters.
I have tried Prico on a hit and miss basis.
I tried Memorex and I went to the company because their media would not write and they gave me some trial media and the only thing that I could burn properly was the DVD +RW

They could not explain why the DVD-R 2x and DVD+R x4 would not write.

The DVD+RW was the only Memorex that would work in My Son Dru 500 ax

  9. CHEAP DVD's in Toronto

"Pacific Mall" - at the corner of Kennedy and Steeles

There are several computer stores in the mall.
I usually go to Canada Computers.
    They sell stuff CHEAP !!

    I can buy a spindle of 50 DVD-Rs for about $60.00 CND

    A note about Princos......
I have been using Princo DVD-Rs ever since I got into the whole buring DVD scene. (over 1.5 years ago.)
I have never had one problem with these discs, and I have gone through over 80+ discs. I have recommended these discs to many people, and none of them have had any problems.

I know a lot of posts on this site say Princos are not the best.... and that might be true. I am not an expert. But they work for me, in my computer and in my standalone players. They are cheap, and have never failed me. I will continue to use them, until other media can match the price.
