  1. This is a real nasty one - DVDBackup won't decrypt 2 of the VOBs, OS9 won't even accept the disc so DVDExtractor won't either, OSeX won't load with it in the drive. Thankfully, if you want the movie only you can take as much as DVDbackup will give (the problem is on the 5th VOB) so you can take the VOB and have DVD2ONE go to work since there really is no option to split the streams. Only the credits get the axe, so the movie is still watchable, and given the size of the movie, compression isn't an issue.

If anyone else has a workaround, please do give us a post.

was there some type of error message reported? I ripped the DVD unattended and it gave no problems. Just finished DVD2ONE'ing it and it seems all good.

  3. DVDBackup only claimed it could not process the two VOB files, the others, as described, provided no error codes or other identification. This does make me wonder where might you have gotten your copy?

In this case, mine was from the local Blockbuster - however, I noticed none of the same troubles I've seen as with the third disc of Six Feet Under, or with LOTR-extended where the encryption errors were evident in the viewing. Perhaps this is something to do with the presses of this particular copy and/or series of masters?

  5. Not sure of the relevance of that particular question, however, the disc appears undamaged.

A number of people have brought up this topic in terms of warez. I'm asking because I'm wanting to find wether this is a warez topic or not. So please answer the question. Is it a rental, or did you purchase it from Blockbuster?

  7. I bought it from Blockbuster, I dupe all my originals - and I bought my copy of DVD2ONE, and all the others I mentioned are freeware. Color me a little baffled how the whole "warez" thing fits in.

Some people reported that you were copying rentals, because you said you got it from Blockbuster.
