  1. My friend has a RCA DVD player and it is hooked up to his VCR and there is no macrovision? He didn't change any settings to the DVD player. Is it because it is hooked up to a generic VCR that the macrovision doesn't show or what. It playes just fine no grain no nothin. If it is the VCR do you think it would work with any DVD player?

  2. Not all DVDs are macrovision protected. Have you tried playing the same DVD on both his system and yours?

Some combinations only show the macro when you try to record the dvd to a tape. I can run my dvd through the vcr crystal clear, but once I hit that record button it goes in the toilet.

  4. Some macrovison VHS machines does not kick in until you push the record button, both my JVC SVHS machines are like that.
other wards you can watch a DVD through Most (S)VHS machines but can not record the DVD onto the VHS machine.
