I know this is silly, but in my first attempt at DVD authoring, I used AVISynth to frame serve multiple avi files to Nerovision (NV) 1.0.4.6, because I’m limited by Win98 and FAT32 to 4Gb files.

First problem:
NV would spend 9 hours transcoding but fail to burn. In the burn log, it says something about the media not supporting track-at-once writing. When I prepare to burn in Nero Express, it will only allow me to select disc-at-once writing. Is this a limitation of my media (Memorex -R version 2.0) or dvd burner (NEC 1300a)? Is NV hard coded to write only in track-at-once mode?

Second problem:
Since the burn failed, I started the process over and saved it to the hdd. This produced vob files with no audio that would crash the PowerDVD player. I have the updated NeroMediaCon.dll, so this is not the same ifo problem as dealt with in other posts on this forum. I verified with ifo edit that there is no audio stream at all in the vob. When I created a vob from a straight avi file without using AVISynth, the sound was there and in synch (no, I don't have a video of N-Sync; I’m talking about synchronization here). I guess that NV was just not meant to work with AVISynth, but I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered a similar problem and has overcome it.

Thanks for your time and comments.
