Mpeg 1 to Mpeg 2 with tmpeg

I am using tmpeg to convert mpeg 1 clips to mpeg 2 format. My goal is to edit with Ulead dvd workshop, which is awesome, however I workshop wont edit or let you burn mpeg 1 clips. When I use tmpeg to convert mpeg 1 to mpeg it works great, however it wont let me keep the audio track and video track together. It splits them up. I do see the option to keep them together, but it is greyed out. Also, I use a JVC SVCR player to stream video through a pinnacle movie box to my computer, can any one reccomned a solid streaming program to capture the video. I have a wicked fast comp and sometimes it still crashes during the capture mode. Thanks... because of message boards like this, the world keeps going around.

just multiplex the video and audio with TMPGenc mepg tools under the file menu. Choose simple multiplex
