ive posted a similar topic before, and i have decided that i want a PCI cap card. im in PAL (UK) region and will mainly use it for TV progs, etc.
I bought the Sapphire Radeon 7500 PCI but could not get it to correctly install. (probably coz of graphics card conflict).
I am not willing to spend loads on the canopus advc-100 or the new radeon AGP cards, i would prefer a PCI card.
i currently have the hauppauge wintv fm, and have been looking at the PVR-250, though reviews suggest that the software included heavily lets the product down.
something that could do realtime MPEG-1/2 and AVI captures would be ideal.
are there any suggestions that anyone one can give that would fit my requirements. (PCI, not too expensive, nice quality).
*Direct Links for products would be helpful if possible.
any replies would be much appreiciated

Do you not have an AGP slot?

There is PCI graphics VIVO card, which is called ATI All-In-Wonder VE. It has Video In, Video Out (Both support PAL/SECAM in any version). It is also a graphics card. The price should be around $110.
About your radeon 7500 card: Will Hay is right, you're probably having problem with 2 graphics cards inserted in the same time which should not be a problem in the first place because one disables the other. You would probably need to remove your old graphics card before inserting radeon 7500. -
sorry if you misundrstood me, i wasnt very clear. i already have a AGP graphics card (gainward gf4 ti 4200 650 tv-out/dv) and i bought the card so i could operate the two cards at the same time, but that wasnt possible, so i have returned it, and am now looking for a PCI cap card (not a graphics card).

You can get ATI TV Wonder which has Tuner and Video IN and is PCI capture (not graphics) card for $40. It can do MPEG 1/2 captures through Multimedia center and AVI captures through VirtualDub. As a matter of fact, your hauppage card should also be able to do all of that.

what about the WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe ?
ive seen this card for £40, and its rated highly by users in the "capture cards" section.
does this card support captures directly to mpeg-1/2 and captures with avi compression codecs like huffyuv/picvideo?
would this card be an improvement on the wintv fm i already have?
"Asus TV Tuner Card"
the second highest user rated card, does this card support captures directly to mpeg-1/2 and captures with avi compression codecs like huffyuv/picvideo?
but i cant seem to find a place to buy this in the uk. if anyone could post a link, it would be much appreciated.
more suggestions would be appreciated
