  1. ok - i have read what feels like every thread in this forum

    here is my setup

JVC 3901 svhs vcr - svideo cable to the
    Leadtek winfast 2000/xp deluxe card

    computer:
    p4-2.26
    512 rdram 1066

the video looks almost crystal clear on the tv but piss poor on the captures... any ideas on what i should try next?

i have been using winfast pvr for the recording at 352x250

i have tried windvd recorder but it isnt any better

what i have noticed is that playing the video on my computer lcd seems to be better - when i hit record - the quality immediately goes down

    any help is greatly appreciated!

    thanks,
    allen

I have a similar set up, and when I do that I get sync problems on the standalone dvd player. I just save in mpeg 1 "optimal" and the picture is clear.(as can be expected)

I use PVR set as Optimal 320x240 (PAL) Then I run it through TMPG at standard VCD. When I burn it with NERO it looks ok on tv.

Anything below 352x480 is not interlaced, and will look bad in most cases.
