I'm having trouble making a divX movie into an SVCD. So here goes...

I've read a couple good guides here on how to convert PAL Video into NTSC (multiple different formats). My situation is that I have a PAL divX movie which is PAL. What I've done is used Virtualdub to remove the Audio into a wave. So far so good. Then I use the latest beta for BeSweet to 'fix' the wave so that it would be synced correctly and no pitch problems with an NTSC Film conversion of the PAL divX movie. But, I'm stuck at what to do next. I plan on using TMPGEnc to make the final SVCD Mpeg, but how do I do this and have the audio sync up correctly? Demux the divX and convert the video to NTSC Film and then mux the audio and video?

  2. The way that I have encoded a DiVX PAL vid to NTSC was to use Virtualdub to convert the audio to wav, then when you are using TMPGEnc to encode to mpg...choose the wav file as the audio source.

and go thru and make sure all your settings are set correctly...
    and then do it.

I have done quite a few this way, and had no problems.

What are the correct settings though? I've tried all sorts of things. If I leave the audio alone, it's synced up with the movie and cracks a lot. If I stretech the audio from 25.000 FPS to 23.976 FPS, the resulting mpeg is out of sync and plays a little slow. So what are the correct settings?

  4. Settings will vary from file to file depending on what your source is and what output you are going on...it is hard to say.

but the only thing I do with the audio is like I said...save to wav in Virtualdub...and choose the file for audio source.
then I set the bitrate under the audio tab to whatever..(I normally use 192-256) and let it go...how is the original source file? Does it have any audio problems?

btw...why are you going down from 25fps to 23.976fps? is that a typo? I thought you were trying to change to NTSC...which is 29.976fps of course..

    just tryin to clarify..

Okay, well the source file is a Non-interlace DivX 5.0.5 Video File. Since this isn't an interlace video file does that mean I need to select inverse telecine in TMPGEnc? Also, 23.976 FPS is the framerate for NTSC Film (sorry for not stating that earlier if I didn't).
