  1. I have the two latest versions of DVD Shrink and decided to test it on one of my new DVDs (the 1963 MGM The Haunting. I removed the features I didn't want (foreign languages, etc.). When finished, I used Nero 6 to create a new DVD disk. It put two folders on and I added everything to the VIDEO_TS folder, leaving the audio folder empty.

It appeared to work flawlessly and I did get sound from the menu. But the movie had no sound.

Does something have to be in the AUDIO_TS folder? I've been told no, to leave it empty.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

    Thanks!

Did you select the first(primary)audio stream? DVD Shrink does not correct the ifo files so if you don't select the first audio stream you get no sound. Cycle thru the audio streams with your remote.

  3. I'm mighty new to all of this. What do you mean first audio stream? Some of these extentions and their placement are kind of a mystery, but I'm learning.

The way the software worked, I understand, is select compression and features, then burn to the hard disk. Then burn the contents of the directory used to the VIDEO_TS folder.

The program, by the way, is wonderful. Can't get over the fact that someone would write something this good and give it away. Also, is there a help file to be found anywhere?

    Thanks again for your help.

Yes that's what I mean. If you don't select that first stream you get no audio to autoplay when you insert the disk into the stanalone player. This is one reason I prefer DVD95COPY 1.4 as it re-writes the ifo files to reflect the actual streams you select.

  6. Thanks. I'll check it out. BTW, do you prefer 2.3 over 3? Will check out DVD95COPY.
