  1. i have 3 mpg's (all 480x576 SVCD's) and would like to burn em all on to one DVD to make one complete MPG...is this possible? my DVD player plays SVCD's fine, so if i were able to take all 3 videos and combine em into one, would it be possible to make a ~2.3gb SVCD on a DVD disc?

i don't need to author the DVD/SVCD at all...i just want it on one continuous disc.

i wasn't sure if i should post this in the (S)VCD AUTHORING or DVD AUTHORING area...hope i made the right choice .

    thanks for the help.....sturmie

  2. It's really pretty simple, but your best bet is to use an authoring program. I prefer TMPGEnc DVD Author, but any of them should do. It also has a 30 day fully functional trial. Start a new project and then import your three mpeg files. If the three files are very similar you should be able to put them all in the same track, but if they're not, you'll have to put them as separate tracks, and that will require you to make a menu. You can have the disk skip the menu automatically when you put the disk in, however. So, you import your three tracks, make a menu, and then output the files and it will give you a ready to burn VIDEO_TS file. You can even use the program to burn it if you want.

  3. does it matter that the video size (480x576) and audio (44KHz as oppsed to the DVD standard of 48KHz) are off from the normal DVD specs? i tried to use all 3 files (all similar video + audio) in DVD-lab (1.3.beta 1), but it wanted to transcode the audio and kinda choked on the video - the outputted video was real "flakey".

just wondering. i'll try TMPGEnc DVD tonite and see what happens....thanks. in the meantime, i'm open to other suggestions/comments as well.

  4. Try SVCD2DVDMPG, it should prepare the mpegs for authoring.
