  2. Caution: If you do do that then you will end up with a LOT of quality loss.

  4. there has been a lot of threads discussing this topic....i suggest you search for "gangs of new york" as that is also 2 disc movie...and many ppl were also trying to join them to 1 DVD-R/+R

  5. You'll probably lose the source menus.

  6. should be easy. Rip the m2v streams from the discs, then use AviSynth to join them. Frameserve to TMPGEnc, encode at DVD standards with the correct bitrate. The author and burn.

me too...if the studios split the movie on 2 discs...i would just use 2 DVD-Rs....and save the quality...as i want to keep everything, including the menus and extras....

i guess ppl just don't wanna change discs...

    -------

btw, it would be an extra $0.80 for me...not $2

tmpgenc dvd author is the best way to do it with the same movie

and it let you make a menu and keep chapters

however with 2 different movies it can only do it
if both movies have the same parameters (same video size, same audio, etc)

i was going to do a guide with it, but i have been getting called every name in the book lately

another way if you are doing 2 different discs and different parameters

This would be a fib, mate. At least, to my ears. TMPGEnc DVD Author is a multiple-VTS authoring program. It can author movies of different aspects to a single DVD.
