    Bill and teds excellent adventure!

The version longue of Leon on R2.

A decent transfer of blade runner on R2, with the theatrical cut included.

I accually have a PAL 133 minute version of Leon (the long version) , but it has the faulty 5:1 surround as did the first region 1 release .. but i have the good 5:1 audio on the new release NTSC 133 minute version.

I cant really sell it as it is a studio copy though (legal copy)...

there are about 10 versions if not more of blade runner.. on film anyway .
there is a new dvd release comming out soon -- which restores the europe added violence and changes things around once again (different ending) -- cant say to much more about as mainly a lot of things are still up in the air .. Ive got the NJL-20008 2.35 : 1 laser disk from pioneer japan which is prob. the best quality of the laser disks , but it is still the directors cut 118 min version .. i backed it up to dvd though anyway ..

Soylent Green - Old, cheesy, and odd, but good.

    THX-1138 - Same.

Really? that's quite cool. does that mean a R2 special edition is in the works? other problem with the present release over here is that it's non-anamorphic

there are about 10 versions if not more of blade runner.. on film anyway
    Tell me about it
There was a website dedicated to this topic somewhere, some versions differ by really petty things though, like "this piece of incidental music is entirely different"
I was close to buying the criterion edition a couple of months back, but the price ended up going through the roof
I'm really interested to see the theatrical cut though. Having only ever seen the directors (which if you've never seen the movie before is actually not too easy to follow, it's obvious the narration is missing if you think about it) i'd prefer to make up my own mind on which is best.

Incidentally, having just watched the DVD of 28 days later, i am adding to my list:
A re-release of 28 days later, with a digital master instead of film!!
It's stupid, they made a big hoo-hah about it all being shot on DV, i'm sure it'll have been edited on computer, so why not use the DV files for DVD production instead of a film master? (and not a very good one at that) Seems a bit silly to me....

Good news, poopyhead ... I read that the 3 Indiana Jones movies will all be released onto DVD in November. If I remember correctly, it may even be the exact day that Finding Nemo is scheduled to come out.

    My pick is Disney's Cinderella.

Biggest on my list for DVD releases is Schindler's List. It's still the only movie that can move me to tears (partly because of Perlman's wonderful addition to the soundtrack). It boggles the mind why that's not out yet, though it was released in LD, which is my main motivation in getting an LD player.

I'd also like to see more Kurosawa on DVD. Some newer titles like Kagemusha aren't on R1 DVD yet, and it looks like one of his most visually stunning films in color. I'd also like to see some old ones like Sanshiro Sugata, Ikiru, The Most Beautiful, and No Regrets For Our Youth. I'd really like to see how his much earlier work compares to his later films. It's both a boon and a blessing that Criterion picks up most Kurosawa titles. They do great transfers (except for making Seven Samurai full screen for some sorry-assed reason) but the market price on their DVDs is usually $30 and up.
