I'd say about 75%, because most of the problems that people are having, someone else has already gone through it and it has been discussed here on the site (with the exception of new programs that are constantly coming out). But I would also say that sometimes it seems that you cant find out the answer by doing a search and have to open up a new topic.
Any way " I love this place, Man."

Unless it's about the latest 3rd party DVDR firmware update, everything has been answered and guided to death. Probably only the Linux forum has valid new questions on it. These are the same people that searched *.avi on Gnuttella and didn't understand why they didn't find waht they were looking for.

Voted for 75%
I know after pressing the NEW TOPIC button you can see the forum rules and the advice to do a serch but it would be more effective if a POP-UP window came up with all these above and you had to click yes.
At least for members with less than 30 (or something) posts.
What do you mods think? You stop me again whilst I'm walking and I'll cut your fv<king Jacob's off. -
Ahhh...more newbies would use the search funtion if it worked(HINT,HINT),search sends you to Google for answers.

The members with less than 30 posts are OK.
The problem is the members with less than 30 I.Q. -
The true is I got answers to all my questions. If not directly, at least in someway I could solve my problems with forums/guide help. And I think I could contribute to solve some problems too.

Another poll without the choice I want, or the question I am afraid to ask. I want to know if Tgpo can reproduce. If he cannot, I would feel relieved. If he can...

Yes I can. And plan too in the late future. The plan right now is to graduate, marry Evonne, Get a better job, she graduates, then see where life takes us from there.

I've only posted one question (my 1st post), the rest were all replies. I love reading the posts, because I find answers to questions I have'nt thought of yet. It also helps me keep up with new software and stuff.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -
oop, make that one less for 25% and one more for 75%... misread the question as "how many answered by asking"
always worth having a look at the stuff in the sidebar first (call me hypocrite if you like tho)... has the search been re-enabled yet?-= She sez there's ants in the carpet, dirty little monsters! =-
Back after a long time away, mainly because I now need to start making up vidcapped DVDRs for work and I haven't a clue where to start any more! -
I read the forum a few months before I joined and I do use the search feature it is a helpful tool. I have never asked a question in here, but that doesn't mean I know everything. When I started converting home movies old 8mm's and VHS to DVD half the fun was doing the research and solving the problems myself.

If you guys can't find TGPOrn, you are looking in the wrong places.
I just quit answering the " I want to capture TV on my computer... what do I need?" Would you like my to buy all the stuff, and then come over to your house and set it up too?
And the " I just downloaded this AVI and the sound is all messed up, and video keeps sticking" Answer to this one is always... Well DUH! Download the mpeg next time!
Though the search being dead does make it hard to be rude to these people.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -

I chose 75%, but it is really somewhere around 90%. Most of the time, when I do have to ask, someone comes back with the answer.
At least no-one has flamed me for asking something stupid!Just what is this reality thing anyway? -

I hate pop ups. They are an evil evil creation.
Though I see your point tompika, the system may fail if people use anti-popup proggies. I can see the situation where I get half a dozen PMs every day from newbie members asking why the "forum doesn't work"...

About 90% of my questions are answered, or at least discussed enough to give me clues.
As far the the popup. I can only thing of one forum that has useful popups and its arstechnica, and I HATE it. I vote not to popups, and yes to roving gangs of murder robots. -

I just wondered if you know of a guide that works when you want to convert an .avi with .ac3 to DVD-R which keeps the ac3 sound intact. Cos I've tried the search facility & posted requests but not got anything that works back. I don't think there is one out there yet? [/quote] -
I've already tried to follow this guide but came to a grinding halt when I could not get Besliced to work!!!
Everytime I dropped the ac3 file into Besliced I got a pop-up notepad window with a blank page & flashing cursor
Any ideas on what to do ? i did post a cry for help at the time but never managed to work it out !! -

Here's what we moderators see on the forum...
The right most icon (green) removes all warnings.
One to the left (yellow) gives a user a warning.
One further (red) instantly bans a user.
The left most icon (also red), sends out the killer robots...
