Ok, I purged DVDXCOPY completely but I don't know how to get rid of the gear drivers that came with it. I tried to just delete them from the system32 folder but it told me access is denied. I think part of this is that the gearsec drivers are still running in the background but I have no use for them now and need to uninstall them completely. Any help with this???
P.S.--I won't use this software again...too much hassle for such a high retail price.![]()

Sorry to double post but I would like to uninstall these drivers. Plz help or move this to a more appropriate area. Thanks :P

The only "true" way to uninstall the drivers would be to dig into the registry and look for references of the original software folders where it might be loading drivers... or you can get a list of drivers, etc installed and look for them one at a time...
Do a "find" on RUNONCE and this will also list what runs when Windows is starting (these might not show up in your "Startup" folder). Might be something in here as well..
Anytime working with the registry, be safe rather than sorry..
Good luck... -
reinstall dvdxcopy and then Start -> Programs -> DVDXCOPY -> Configure -> remove gear drivers
reboot
then
use add/remove programs and remove dvdxcopy
otherwise do as above suggested but be aware gear really hooks into your system .. -
Ok, well what I was able to do was this. I ended the gearsec.exe process and then was able to delete the gear files out of system 32. I rebooted and now they seem to be gone...did I do this correctly??
