There is no catch, many software companies offer huge discounts to academic establishments. I know, because I work at a University. You dont have to be a student, staff can get the discount also

They are hoping that once you graduate and are CEO of a huge company, you will remember them and buy their software at full wack.

The catch is that you can not use those versions for ANY bussness or Comercial purposes - nor are they upgradable (for the most part) ..
Other than that they are great deals ...

That's true. They are meant only for school work and personal learning. You can't sell any of your work produced with the software.

I work at school producing school projects and producing my own stuff and stuff for church. I think i am within my limits.

I think i'm gonna buy the acedemic discounted version of that new video producer bundle coming from adobe.

It sucks though cause high school students can't buy microsoft stuff at the discount, but once i get accepted to college, i can.

I thought it was pretty obvious I was joking as well being that I wrote "in all seriosness" in the first few sentences, as well as put a smiley face at the end.
