He doesn't mean Intro, he means Logo.

Simply put: You can't. Check your Ego at the door. You can do it in VDUB or Adobe Premiere, depending on how you encode (notice no mention of CCE and TMPG), as well as AVISynth.

There are 2 reasons for putting Logo's on a video; 1 will get you banned from here and the other looks pretty cheesy unless it fades out after a few seconds.

I have a bunch of home movies shot with my digial camera.. I would also like to find a way to put a "logo" (date/time/place) of the movie.

I have it stored in DVD mpeg2 format - virtual dub will allow me to do something like that?

    VDUB does it very easily.

KISS principle: Make a Bitmap with what you want for a Logo. MSPaint will do this, or about any "paint" program. Here's the key to professional looking Logo's.....make the background RED. It may look horrific in you paint program.

Now...in VDUB you want to use the "Logo" filter. In setting it up, it will let you put it anwhere in the video. The 'key' is to set the opaque color to the red from above. Now you won't have this square block logo, but jsut the text or image you wanted. It will look jsut like Logo's do on TV (assuming you have some artistic talent :P ) Like Comedy Central or the Sci-Fi channel do. You can fade the logo down so it's there, but very unobtrusive.

VDUB will let you preview and position it on the fly. You can use some other color tha red (assuming you want Red in your logo), but I suggest Red/Green/Blue as theya re the easiest to key on. This is a variation of Chroma-Keying.

I'm at work or I'd give you a screen shot
