  1. Ok i am trying to backup a TV episode disc. It is DVD9 and I want to back it up to DVD5 on one disc keeping the menu structure and also keeping the best quality possible on the video. I was wondering if I could do this successfully:

    re-encode the main movie files (4 different PGC's, 7 VOB files :
merge all the vob's for the main movie files
demux them re-encode with CCE to a smaller size.

? somehow make the VOB files again ?
? then somehow put them back with the rest of the files and run something to create new IFO's or something so they will be compliant to burn on a DVD??

I was wondering if anyone can help me with the ?'s, or let me know if this will even work.
    Thanks.

  2. Talk about making life difficult for yourself !. just run the disc through DVD decrpter n put it on your HD n then use DVD shrink or DVDone or DVD95 copy to shrink it from DVD 9 ize to DVD 5 size..Easy n quick

  3. what about the quality?? i am concerned more about the quality then time.
i know if i was that concerned i would put them on 2 discs but i really want them on one.
out of all the stuff i have read it looks like re-encoding with CCE will provide the best quality?? am i wrong?

  4. CCE will get you there in style but, I was never one to keep the file menu structure.
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.
