  1. Most of the processes for converting PAL to NTSC involved de-mulitplexing the video and audio, changing the rate for the sound and re-multiplexing. I have tried this and on many occasions the when tmpgenc is demultiplexing the video, it stops prematurely so I don't get a complete m2v or mp3 file. Can't relate it to anything. The video files have been files off the net, vob files taken off DVD's and others directly captured

Any ideas what might be causing this?

    Thanks

  2. No klew as to why this is happening.

To demux AVI use VDub, to demux VOB use DVD2AVI. :P

What file system are you using (NTFS or FAT32)? I had a similar problem and it drove me crazy until I finally realized that my temp file was on my ME drive (FAT32) instead of my XP (NTFS) drive. I use a dual boot system and sometimes unknowingly put the temp files on the wrong drive. The FAT32 file size limit can be really annoying when working with video files since DVDs typically go up to 4.7 GB.

  4. I am using NTFS but the files I was playing around with were only about 400MB. But then they were downloads from the net (TV shows) so their integretity is a bit suspect

Have you tried the Repair/Fix video files in the Tools section? I've never used any of them, but maybe one of them will help if the file is corrupt? Let me know if you fix the problem because I'm getting ADSL in the next few days and will probably encounter the same thing sooner or later. Thanks.

  6. No I haven't but the strange thing the files play fine on Windows. Plus most of them seem to be MPEG1 VCD format and when I burn to CD they also play fine on my DVD player. Strange.....

Do you happen to be running a Beta version of TMPGEnc? Maybe it's a program glitch??? What about trying ReMPEG? Not sure how well it works, but I've downloaded it and will try it soon.

    Good luck.
