  1. Hi, after getting my burner over a year ago ive decided to use it (cheaper media now :P )

anyways having a few problems backup up DVD's, they play in the PC fine with PowerDVD and menus work aswell, but they will nto work in my set-top players!!!

    Set-Up:

    Pioneer 104 Burner
    BluqPaq Green 2x media (burnin @ 2x)

    Players: Kiss DP450 & Schnieder & PS2

    1) Read ISO with DVDDecrypter
    2) Bang it on Virtual Drive with Clone or Daemon Tools
    3) Burn ISO with Ulead Movie Factory or Instant Copy

    But no joy!!

Plays fine in my PC but not in any Players!

only thing ive found is that it trys to play the discs, spins up, but locks up as soon as it trys to read the disc properly.

Please Help ASAP, DVD media still aint that cheap

  2. I would try ripping with SmartRipper, then use DVDshrink if you need to trans-code the ripped files to fit onto a single DVDR then burn with RecordNow Max or Nero. SmartRipper and DVDshrink are free. Also I assume you are putting all the files into a "VIDEO_TS" folder then burning that folder.

  3. yeah but id like to know the reason why it isnt working, but i'll will give smartripper a try and see what i get. must be a simple explanation why it won't work in my player!!

  4. Ive now found out that it does actually work in my schnieder player, but only after waiting litrally 2 minutes, but skipping though the chapters the further you get into the film the slower/longer it takes to play again.

This must be a common problem, please can you tell me what tho.

    Thanks

do all your players support DVD-R??

    ----------

you format your hdd as FAT32???

    ----------

burn at 1X..see if that helps.

    ----------

test your DVD-Rs on a friend's DVD player..see if it works.

  6. Yes all my DVD players support DVD-R.

    File System is NTFS (WinXP)

I tried with different media i.e. Datawrite 1x and it worked perfetly!

SO me thinks it might be my Bulkpaq 2x Green wrote at 2x that is the problem!

But then again i backed up my mp3 collection on a Bulkpaq Disk at 2x and that works fine?!

    What is goin on...

  7. DVD players seem to be much more picky about media than DVD-ROMs. a minority of my cheapo 1X princos exhibit the "outer edge" problem. this only shows up occasionally on my dvd player, but NEVER EVER in my PC.

i'm guessing you burned those .mp3 as a DATA DVD only playable on the PC??

  8. Burned the MP3's as Data through Nero to play on my Set-top DVD Player (Kiss DP-450) which like i say works fine!!

Anyways i tried this other dudes method by using Instant Copy with all the updates and my Bulkpaq Green 2x @ 2x to shirnk a DVD-9 movie, but near the end of the burnin process "MEDIUM ERROR", so i went mental...

Tried the partly burned DVD in one of my Schnieder Players works fine until the dodgy part where it just dies (obviously) but still dont play in PS2 or Kiss Player! but i know for a fact the Kiss player plays DVD-R cos i burned one yesterday!!! (but it was a Datawrite gold 1x) and various times before...

This just sux i paid far too much for this 50pk of DVD-Rs and i dont wanna waste em!

    Thanx for any help

  9. look here for more info on your various media: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia

it seems like they could be exhibiting the "outer edge" problem i was talking about....

also, i've heard ppl say bulkpaq isn't very good...

  10. Just tried putting seperate DivX files onto one of these disks.

I burnt them at 2x with nero and popped it in my DivX player (Kiss DP450) played fine no probs.

Can anyone tell me the step by step process of doin a DVD-9 disk to a DVD-R to play in my player please before i send these disks back.

    Thanx
