I'm sorry, but how exactly are you supposed to read these graphs. I've seen them before and I had the impression that the lower the number, the less "error-prone" the disc is.
-
The lower the number, the better the "quality".
The TDK has an average PI (parity inner error?) rate of 3.901, with PO avg of 0.629. Extremely great numbers.
Doesn't represent playback ability though, for example, the Lead Data has an avg PI of 3.078, PO of 0.709, however it isn't able to load in a few players because of the light colored dye.
If the numbers are off the wall, then playback glitches and pauses can/will occur. Wait for the Princo results, to see the difference.
Look at the Longten Tech media.
Kprobe has a thread at www.cdfreaks.com, under the media section. -
Oh I see, thanks. So as of now the BeAll seems to be the best media out there in terms of quality. I am familiar with the quality vs compatibility issue, but I'd rather pay for quality. What number would be an acceptable number? I'm suprised that Riteks have a 24. They are usually the most used discs and praised for their performance.
-
A magic number would be nice to know. I'm thinking an average below 10 or 15, with a peak less than 30.
The Longten media had a few glitches and pauses in 5 test players. The Ritek only glitched a couple of time in 2 players.
That first Ritek test is from an old batch I uncovered not too long ago. I recieved some new Ritek today, and am still testing it. The media ID is slightly different.
I know I had to send part of a Ritek order back because of bad discs last year. That 50 pack could of been left over from then.
