My process for Gangs of New York (2 disc movie)

    Software you will need:

    DVDdecrypter
    DVD2One
    IfoEdit
    Burning Program of your choice

1.Rip 1st disc with DVD Decrypter (movie only) to a folder.
2.Run the 1st disc through DVD2One choosing a total ouput files size of about 2.2 gigs.
3.Rip the 2nd disc with DVD Decrypter (movie only) to a separate folder than that of the 1st disc.
4.Run the 2nd disc through DVD2One choosing a total output files size of about 2.2 gigs.
5.Now go here http://ifoedit.wh.fr0zen.com/joinclip.html#joindbl and follow the instructions carefully on “Joining double sided DVDs”

Disregard steps 1 & 2 regarding IfoEdit and follow these:

1.Once you have ALL the VOBS together and in one single directory (this is where you should be if you followed the above instructions) you should have the below:

    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_01_2.VOB
    VTS_01_3.VOB
    VTS_01_4.VOB
    VTS_01_5.VOB
    VTS_01_6.VOB

Notice I have deleted all the IFO and BUP files.

2.Open IfoEdit and click “Create IFOS”. Select the first VOB (VTS_01_1.VOB) in your final folder and click ok.
3.Once complete, in IfoEdit again click “Open” and select the VTS_01_0.IFO file that IfoEdit just created.
4.Now click “Get VTS Sectors” and select “Yes” through all the prompts. It is VERY important that this step be completed.
5.Done authoring. Now burn with your program of choice.

  2. I did something that similar to yours for two different dvds:

Get all vobs - rename them in order and put them in same dir - use ifoedit to get IFO and BUPs - use dvd2one

I think I should do your step 3 and 4 also - that maybe solve my old problems.

BTW, you may get a problem if you have more than 9 vobs in the same dir.

  3. I think it would be better to join the vob's before you run dvd2one on them so that your final movie has the same bitrate all the way through.

  4. hi there,

if it was me i would use the following process:

    ( give your oppinion )

    1. rip both dvds to different folders
    2. strip both folders with dvd2one or dvd shrink so you can get movie only with 1 soundtrack and 1 subtitle track
    3. demux the video ( m2v ) and audio ( ac3 )
    4. extract chapters and subtitles
    5. import everything into maestro and compile the complete movie
    6. finally compress your compiled movie with dvd2one if compression needed is below 15-18% or with instant copy if compression is above that value. if you use instant copy after the compression run the movie into dvd2one for cleaning the structure to get a 99,99& compliant dvd

    enjoy your movie!

Following is the way that I have been putting 2 movies on 1 DVD:

1st: I process both movies with D21 113 movie only set at 2222mb and I only select the 6ch audio. [after processing with D21 each movie equals approx 2.17gig]

2nd: I then start TMPGEnc DVD Author and import both movies each to there own track

3rd: I then open NERO and select DVD iso/udf mode and import the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS
folders created by TMPGEnc DVD Author and burn

    Just my 2cents...........
