I found some info you may want to know using ulead dvd workshop (1.3). I found this out quite a while ago and had thought i posted it but i was wrong.

Ok, long story short i was doing a type of disc and was going to have 4 movies on it. The total size (i have ulead make a dvd folder) was around 9 gigs (explain why later on). Ulead worked fine but when it came to the muxing right at the very end it would crash. So i lowered the gig size (by re-encoding a file) to 8 something it still crashed. Lowered again to 7 something gigs and it worked fine. So i did it again and now had a disc at 8.2 gigs in size. ANYTHING higher then this the program will crash. So for whatever reason if you are making a dvd that is much higher then normal and plan on using this program, 8.2 gigs is the max size it will handle before it crashes.

The reason i did this was i had 4 older films from beta, i wanted them all on one dvd (for sentimental value). SO quality was not the biggest issue. I captured each film with a close to 9bit rate. I then was going to author this disc and use a dvd shrink prog to make it fit on the disc, as encoding all of them down to that level would take forever (which it did ), Now you may say well if quality wasnt the biggest issue, then why didnt i just capture closer to an svcd level instead? The reason for this is simple "capture high encode low" always yeilded the best quality rather than capturing directly at the level you want. Even if i captured at svcd level it still would not look as good as if i captured high then lowered the rate.

So again if anyone is planning on doing something similar, please keep in mind ulead crashes after anything higher then 8.2 gigs
