Okay, I have this weird problem, but before I go into it I should state this. My computer is somewhat new with XP Office (i've had nothing but trouble trying to record all my multimedia stuff on this puter)

I have WinTV 32/2000 which worked wonderful on the old computer. Even after installing their updated drivers on this new computer I still cannot capture video. (WinTV doesnt even allow me to specify where I want my capture to go to. I am capturing from VHS. *Yes it did work on my old computer*

Once I discovered Virtual Dub I started using that instead as it dropped less frames and audio. Now however it won't pick up any frames. The website I run relys heavly on multimedia and I need this fixed quick.

I have gotten it to work on this computer only once before and honestly I don't remember what I did to get it to work because I had been working on it for hours and it seemed to work out of the blue when I restarted. Well, it isn't working and I need help quick.

I usually just do a no compression AVI file to my hard disc and I know that I have enough GB left I have 120GB total.

Could it be that sometimes in WinTV I get an error that there isn't a default AVI player? I wouldn't think it would matter, but who knows, and I do have a default player - Windows Media Player. .

Please help my site is dying without these much needed updates

I just found another site which speaks of a little problem that could be effecting my problem

The first thing you should do is make sure your capture device is recognized by VirtualDub. You can test this by going to the Video menu and checking to see if your capture device is selected at the bottom of the menu - If the name of your device doesn't have a check mark next to it, select it. If your device isn't in the list or you can't select it, there may be a problem with the installation of your capture device.
Well, my capture device is not listed there, but if I go into Video/Source it is listed and is the one being used. Instead when I go to Video like stated up above where my device isn't listed, it says 0 Microsoft WMD Image Capture Win32 and that is checked off.

The problem is that WinTV 32/2000 USB is not compatable with XP (or at least it seems that way.) because when I tried to install it when we got this computer 5 months ago I had a really hard time and got many errors So perhaps this is my problem as well and someone could help me out with that

To the best of my knowledge-you need WDM drivers for your card with XP. If the drivers you have are VFW and WDM drivers are not available for your card-you will need Win 98 for your card to work or go in for a XP compatible card.
