Hi everyone i am new to this site and to tell u the truth i am overwhelmed about this burning thing so i was browsing around and i came across NERO which made everything so easy, but now i am only able to burn VCDs which dont hold too many files. however when i was surfing this site, i happened to cross an article that said how to "FOOL" the VCD into thinking it was a DVD so it could hold more files. CAN ANYBODY TELL ME HOW? and if you can i have a question:will this affect the quality of the videos? thanks and please help me.

the amount is limited by the media....
mode 2 burning for (S)VCDs can only hold 800 MB because that's the limit of CD-Rs...you canNOT go above that...other than overburning...but that will only add about an extra 50 MB at most.
there are 99 min CD-Rs, but not very many burners and players are compatible with it.

are you referring to fitting multiple VCDs on a DVD?? DVDs hold 4.38 GB. -
oh thanks no i was referring to like i said "fooling" the vcd o well thats cool. thanks.

Do a search for "Header Trick". I think it fools the player into thinking the VCD is a DVD in case the player doesn't play VCD's. I'm not positive. It won't let you put more on the disk but you may want to look it up and see if that is in fact what you may have been thinking of.

@skip2mylou, there is NO WAY to trick a CD-R into fitting more than it can phyiscally hold. you are limited to 800 MB / CD-R....with some additional space from overburning, but THAT'S IT. read up on it here: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/135642.php
there is absolutely no point in trying to trick a player into thinking a VCD is a DVD because almost every player, with the exception of some Apex models, supports standard, compliant VCDs.
however, if you would like more info on the VCD header trick go here: http://www.vcdeasy.org/modules.php?name=_Guides&id=VcdTrick
