Ever since I updated InstantCopy I have had sound pauses in my movie backups. It lasts only half a second but it's noticeable and happens about 5 times throughout the films.

I am using DVDShrink from now on!

MackemX, if you have a problem with a post and believe it breaks the forum rules, please use the 'report this pist' link at the bottom of each post. By doing so, you bring the post to the attention of the mods more quickly.

In this case, I see nothing wrong. If SyndicateFoo does start to post abusive remarks, he will be treated in the same way as anyone else who breaks the forum rules.

he has been very offensive to me and other members as ElQueso2 so just cos he has changed his name and come back means it's OK?

this guy has a serious problem and as the rules stated that for such breaking of rules you get banned and permanantly then I thought I'd point it out

I was gonna PM a Mod eventually if I got no response here but I felt it better to warn other board members of this guys instability as he will in no doubt explode again

I didn't need to. If you are right that SyndicateFoo is ElQueso2 and he starts behaving badly, he will be warned. If it continues he will be banned. If he behaves, then I personally see no reason to ban him.

now I'm confused cos basically you are saying a guy can get banned for posting such offensive stuff but then create a new username the next day if no-one finds out and all is forgiven

in theory that means no-one will ever really be banned as they will just basically lose their username and post count and that means you will always have the same a$$oles frequenting the boards if they just keep comin back after being banned

bugster is right, I have not done anything recently, for MONTHS rather, so you can just leave it be. I do not see why this bothers you so bad, people do change and me being banned completely did. I no longer cuss people out, nor do I tell people to "DIE", I simply express feelings towards software in a non-insulting way now.

Rules are Rules in my eyes (I try to follow them) and the main fact is you were banned for a pretty good reason yet you created a new username the very next day and came back

like I said why bother banning people if they are allowed to create a new username and come straight back the very next day?

tompika, you need to leave the moderating to the moderators. They do an excellent job of it, and it's at the point where it's really just ludicrious for people to continually come out of the wood work with their wannabemoderator tactics.

The guy admitted it was the same person...his actions of threats and murder were against forum policy...but what you as well as all the other wannabemoderators are failing to realize is that you are avoiding pertinent parts of the forum code which you failed to circle.

Allow me to quote from forum policy code: Doing so MAY lead you to being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed.) "MAY" is the key word there and obviously at the discretion to any of the moderators or administrator who ultimately make the final decision. It was obvious that ElQueso was given an opportunity and then banned...however, they have been given a second opportunity with their new nic "Syndicate Foo" and have not broken any forum policy since re-joining.

I assume a "persistent" person who does not learn will have the moderators or Baldrick take action for permanent banning as well as their ISP notified and blocked. Obviously Syndicate Foo hasn't done anything recently which would warrant a permanent ban...and more importantly, the initial ban of "ELQUESO" may of been a more formal "warning"

then a yellow card by their nic. I assume that was the modz way of saying...come back and learn from your mistakes..abide by the policy and we will overlook the fact that you have rejoined with the same ISP....but the main point is that I didn't see anyone ever write that ElQueso was "PERMANENTLY" BANNED for anything. I would almost guarantee if they continued to threaten people on a daily basis then appropriate actions would be taken...but it hasn't come down to that.

People should be more concerned with learning from this site and leave the moderating to the moderators..... I personally disagree with the "feedback" section of this forum to begin with.....I think there are more then enough moderators to handle the job and even with the feedback section....things will go unnoticed or unreported.

I think the "FEEDBACK" section was initially a good idea, but with a handful of certain posters who make it a habit and abuse it every five seconds...it has become a joke. I've never reported a single poster on the feedback section, and If I read a post where they are knowingly advertising a product or warez, I tell them in a post...I feel that is more then sufficient.

Bottom line is that there will be a lot of things people don't like...but tough...you deal with it or go somewhere else. But to waste time on trying to bash moderators for not permanently banning a poster months ago...is just sad...if you have a problem with a poster..don't post in their threads or read their threads. Noone is putting a gun to anyone's head and saying you gotta read Syndicate FOO's thread or anyone elses for that matter.

You obviously don't have a clue....if you ever read my posts, you'll know that I don't change my story like many others...nor do I side with a moderator because they are a moderator. I say what I feel my point of view is on a topic and don't back down or change it for anyone.

You are entitled to your opinion, and you have every right to voice it. That's what makes forums like this so great. However, when people repeatedly show that they can't handle the freedom to say what they feel in a mature and appropriate way, they should not be allowed to participate... which is exactly why the rules exist, and exactly why the moderators should enforce the rules that they created.

I too, was being playful in my response..that's why I said you should get banned for making that statement...."technically" according to forum policy...someone "COULD" say they were offended by something so minor....and i've seen complaints from even less then your statement to me...which is another reason I say those weak minded individuals need to just move on. If you felt like I was insulting you..even though I wrote the "keg" thing at the end to show the comment was not taken seriously....then I apologize.

But my post itself was serious in the sense that I have seen at least six posts PRIOR to this one BASHING or calling out the moderators of this site because a "PARTICULAR" person wants a specific poster banned. I agree with you....one thing that makes a forum "open"...is that people can agree and disagree on a particular subject. But in this case I have even said that saying your gonna murder someone is definitely going overboard....but let's be serious....you take even that comment in one of two ways. One...and the obvious choice...the poster is either some little kid or someone with mental issues...they claim to take medicine...I don't know if that is bullshit or serious...but if they do take medicine..then they have an issue. Whatever the issue may be...they seem to have corrected it with their new nic as they have not been out of line yet.

The second possibility is that Elqueso will murder somebody...but even if they would murder MackemX how are they gonna find em'? i've never even seen a MOVIE where someone gets your IP ADDRESS...hunts you down across the COUNTRY OR WORLD....and then murders you....not saying it CAN'T HAPPEN...but be real....and even if they were straight street in their neighborhood and would pull the trigger on someone in an instant...ESPECIALLY over something as minor as a POST on a forum....then chances are...they will either really pull the trigger on someone in real life...or they will say something that they can't back up and someone will pull the trigger on them first.

Either way...they will put themself in a situation where the very LAST thing they will be doing is posting on a computer. Bottom line, is no matter HOW YOU LOOK AT IT....people here are just wasting their time with this garbage...think about it.

And even if people were successful and got this ElQueso/SyndicateFOO character banned....couldn't they just switch ISP's if they were that desperate? Use another computer and get yet, ANOTHER NIC? So then what was accomplished? And last but not least, suppose the modz did give in and say..hell with it...let's ban syndicate foo permanently....even if syndicatefoo didn't have another computer or ISP to turn to and NEVER came back...what standard does that set on this forum? That people can whine and complain and "TATTLETALE" ....(tattletale is the term 5 year olds use against someone who snitches)....and get posters banned just because THEY FEEL A PARTICULAR POST OR POSTER is not worthy of posting on this forum? What kind of trend would that start?


Think about what i'm saying....I think if you look at all the facts and points made...you'll realize that in this case at least...they are very valid and make perfect sense.
