I converted an avi to mpeg and burned it with Nero 5.5. When I wathc the movie half way through the screen goes black on my computer and my standalone dvd player. I ran divxfix and it found some frames that were bad but it fixed it I thought. Does anyone know? Is it because of the bad frames?? Any help would be appreciated.

Its best to remove the bad frames at keyframes with Vdub. I use "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" to scan for them, it makes a log of the bad frames.
Sounds like the bad frames is the cause of your problem. This would have shown up if you had used TMPGEnc to convert to Mpeg.

I did use TMPGEnc. It just went right along and converted the whole thing without ANY error messages. I'll take your advice on removing the frames and see if that does it. Thanks.
