  1. Opened here today, thinking of going to see it this weekend. Is it worth the entrance fee. Out of all the comic book hero's I think the Hulk has the potential to be a really cracking film, I just hope the film does it justice.

  3. I saw the first 25 mins...I can honestly say it looked like a piece of crap.

  4. O, and since you live in England.

Johnny English released today in the States, did you get a chance to catch that one?

  5. The special effects are obviously very important in a film of this nature, but they are not the be all and end all. I have seen the trailers and the cg hulk does look a bit fake but then we are talking about a 15 foot musclebound green monster here, I don't know what a real one would look like. You can't really judge the film (as a film and not a special effects extravaganza) after 25 minutes.

Yes took my 9 year old daughter to see it a month or so ago, she enjoyed it (she loves bean), was a bit too silly and not quite funny enough for me.

Haven't seen the movie, and I wouldn't bother. It looked more then a "BIT" fake in my honest opinion. The Hulk looks like some overgrown cartoon character...and the truth is...it would of looked less fake if they used Shrek as the Hulk..lol....Special affects are crucial but look how X-Men and Spiderman differ...they use actual characters to play the "human" and the Superhero....the Hulk is all computer crap and although he is a 15 foot Giant..etc...look how good Spiderman looked swinging from building to bulding. I'm not even into comics and never was...but I enjoy a movie where you can at least try to use your imagination...the Hulk in my opinion doesn't give you that opportunity...i'ts too fake ...looks too much like a Video Game.....i'll rent it on DVD...but I really think they screwed up with the approach they took with this movie....it would of looked more real if they used AGE OLD technology to have David Banner's shirt rip off and have the Lou Ferigno pop out...lol

  8. its actually a good movie, with a story..

if you're going in expecting rock'em sock'em action and explosions and other eye candy, then you'll be dissapointed.. but if you want a real story (with some action later on), then you'll be pleased..

there are alot of simple people in this world who like simple movies, and hollywood caters to them 90% of the time..

t3 wasnt near as good as i expected it to be, but it did have alot of explosions and guns and fighting..

    Well, to each his own.

I thought that the acting was pretty bad in the part that I saw, just my opinion though.

  10. Jeex, so has a lot of the movie been used for story telling and character development rather than getting staight into the crash bang wallop and hulk outs. If so I dont think this is necessarily a bad thing, with movies like this you want to get to know the characters first and witness the sequence of events leading up to Bruce Banner becomming the Hulk. You can have action from the get-go in the sequel. With out giving too much away did the movie finish set up for a sequel.

In the first about 25 minutes that I could tolerate here is what I found.

Mostly character developement, but it was slow and boring to me. Didn't hold my attention. After that I don't know what happened. It is not likely something I will buy or rent when it comes out on DVD.

T3 at least held my attention! It was an OK movie. Not as good as T2, but not a waste of time either. I'll probably buy the DVD when it comes out.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

I didn't want to see Hulk or T3. I think the next movie to be released the I'm wanting to see is Jason vs Freddy. I have a very odd Movie taste, but I can usually tell from a trailer if I'm gonna like a movie or not. I also tend not to like "special effects" movies all that much, but there are exceptions. I still think the best movie are the "strange" movies. 12 Monkeys, Clockwork Orange, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Dark City, Evil Dead, Dead Alive, Bringing Out The Dead, the burbs, Fight Club, Snatch. It seems like the best movies are the ones that everyone else overlooks. One big example is Bubble Boy. IT never got on the top 10, but Evonne and myself laughed so hard in that movie. Super Troopers was also overlooked! Blockbusters tend not to be what I'm looking for when I go to a theater.

I also like odd movies, but didn't care much for dark city. Also didn't care much for Pi (3.1415...).

I also like strange comics like Steampunk, or more normal like Midnight Nation, but not the capes and tights crowd.

I thought The Hulk wasn't nearly as bad as Daredevil, but it was pretty bad. A comic book movie with special effects and props that mostly look like they belong in a comic book shouldn't take itself quite so seriously. And when the story gets as slow as The Hulk did in some places, it should have more intellectual appeal and better development.

Weird movies are great. Ravenous, Secretary, eXistenZ, Memento, Happiness, Donnie Darko....
