Studio 8 won't recognise dvd burner

I have pinnacle studio 8.6 that came with my movie box dv and usb capture devices in 2 computers. Yes I have both of them. The problem is neither computer will recognise the dvd burner. Both have XP home edition. One is an athlon 1.3 gig with a Sony 500 dvd-+r drive and the other is a Pemtium 4 2.53 gig with a Pioneer 104 dvd-r drive. Is this normal or is something wrong? Both drives work well with all other burning software. I wanted to search the Pinnacle forum but could never get logged in successfully. .......... harrymj3

I'm using Pinnacle V8 with a Pioneer A105 drive and it sees that okay and cuts bith DVD and DVD-r's.

This is on an XP Pro install.Assuming that the drive wirks ok under the OS - I'd suggest an uninstall and reinstall of Pinnacle. I have read about problems when the hardware is changed after Pinnacle has been installed.

I had some compatibilty issues with PS8 and DRU500A. It worked for one of the formats and not for another. I don't remember now if one that worked was + or -.

I also have problems with my DVD RW drive being recognized by Studio 8.

I only have version 8.5.2...where did you get version 8.6 from?
