I used DVD Shrink for my first DVD burn today () and it works so much better than I ever thought anything in the history of the world could.
The only minor problem (from what I read) is that you can't remove anything and still keep the menus with this program. On this particular backup, the introduction is annoyingly long. I just want it to go straight to the menu. How would I go about doing that?

Only Way USE IFO EDIT,
Then submit the FULL DVD to DVD SHRINK and cut it down w/o/intro
http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/dvdr-guides.htm
you only need to follow the first 3 instructions,
as the rest on my link were to make other than a DVD from the movie!1: Rip the DVD
2: Analyze the structure of the DVD
3: Strip out unused menus -
You will probably end up having to DVD shrink the whole thing and then use some IFO editing package to change to the menu (or at least point first play to the menu). I've not done that before so I can't be much help on the details. DVD-Shrink can only do it two ways... whole disk, or movie only. Anything else and you will have to move to other methods.

Besides IFOEdit you could use DVD Toolbox to remove unwanted sections of your DVD.
