I'm in the process of converting all my Family Videos [90+] from video8 hi8 & digital8 tape to mpeg2 , to be burned onto dvd-r using a recently bought pioneer 105 burner.
[Ulead videostudio 7 to capture from ilink Procoder to encode , homestead 3 to edit & UleadMoviefactory 2 to burn onto dvd-r]
My problem is that procoder when encoding a long captured avi file the sound gradually goes out of sync resulting in me having to capture video in 20minute stages.
Anybody got any ideas ?

i find it hard to believe procoder is doing this are you sure its not the capturing process thats desyncing have you played the avi in mediaplayer to test it
plus what version procoder you using -
Yes the original avi file is ok its only after the encoding does the problem arise. The mpeg2 svcd files i use to do were ok there again they were only 30ish minutes long. At present i'm putting about 2hr 15 minutes on a dvd-r using a bit rate of 4000 cbr & highest quality setting video & sound as one ie program stream ,will go to 6000 then 8000 when i start to encode hi8 & digital8 tapes.
