  1. Hello,

my problem is this: before I clicked on the VFAPIConvEN.exe I clicked on the vifpset.bat just like it says I should and a dos window pops up. But when thats done and I click on the program there is nothing in the drop down menu where it says, "Files of type" and it does not let me choose the file I need or any file at all. All it does is pop up and error warning that looks like this: ???????? file location/name ????????

Please someone help me fix this problem.

    Thanks

    hi taterman..

I'm having similar issue too, w/ m 2nd pc. vcdhelp has one of the best
sites for GUIDES and things.. you know ?

Anyways, check this link below, I'm having a look at it now. Maybe I need to
start from the bottom and work my way up again

    * How to frameserve (dvd2avi / VirtualDub / Avisynth / VFAPI)

    Good luck so far.

  3. yea that page says " Some tools / methods may behave different if you are running a different OS. " I am running Winxp pro and others I know use the same OS as me and the program works fine, which in fact they all thought I was joking when I said the program isn't working for me. You're the first I've found whos having the same problem.

  4. On that posted page above, everything I've done went well. Its only when converting with the VFAPIconv. I try to choose the .vdr file, but since the data type drop down box is blank it doesn't except it.

Yes dvd/vcdhelp is an awesome site. I use it all the time, but when I had this problem, I found nothing on how to fix the problem. So I decided to post it on the forum.

Thanx for all replies and help.

    @ taterman..

Sorry, I had stepped away for a while. Was resting after messing w/ the
    same issue as you. Anyways..

I have Windows 98, so, it doesn't really matter what OS you are using.

On my first pc, I have no trouble, it's only when I go to my 2nd pc, that
I have trouble. Actually, it was when I installed AVIsynth v2.52 on that
machine. Things got screwed up and things got turned off or went into
    a cooma (2nd cooma)

I'm in the middle of something, so I can't continue playing w/ this issue. But,
if I get it back up and running, I'll let you know for sure

Have a great day, in any event.
