Hi,

I need your professional idea before committing to one software. My weekend job is a helper at a local mom and pop video tape editing shop. They have $$ for the softwares as far as they get the jobs done. What I need is chapter creation feature and simple cut and join. After a few quick tests, I got some conclusions:

They both yield a 3ish gb DVD disc from a DV tape. I got 4.3 gb dvd if I use MyDVD software that came with the dvd burner. The difference in video quality is noticeable in outdoor scenes.

The dvd workshop scan the captured and list the scenes based upon date and time as separate titles. I am unable to merge them. In some settop dvd player, there's a second pause as it moves from 1 title to the next. Is this a limitation of the software or my settings? I haven't test this on vegas.

The Nero spits out vobs created by vegas. I guess the default setting on Vegas is not enough.

The vegas looks more sophisticated and sucks more cpu power than workshop. It's also more expensive. I'm trying to get my arms around them so your input will help me cut corners and make an informed decision.

TIA,

Dawg
