    Ok here's the scoop.

Most times I just use SVCD2DVD. But my player has issues with PAL DVD-SVCD's, even though it plays PAL SVCD's just fine.

Now many of the best SVCD images nowadays are coming in PAL format.

Especially when it's TV episodes, I'd prefer not to burn a dozen CD's.

So I'm looking for the best trade-off between speed and quality for conversion.

Right now, I can run TMPGEnc to merge up all the files, then pick the NTSC DVD template and let it run. This takes a REALLY LONG FRIGGIN TIME, and I usually have to fiddle with the settings to get the right aspect ratio, and add in the pulldown in order to have it not look all jerky at 29fps (since not all players support 23.97fps).

This, sadly, takes about 3.5 hours for a single hour of source material at SVCD resolution.

Main Concept takes a MUCH shorter amount of time, but has no settings to play with and the quality ... at least in this case ... is much poorer.

I'm not opposed to learning to use one of the more complex programs, but someone would need to point me at a REALLY good tutorial before I'd be willing to dive into writing scripts. (Am I the only one that finds CCE and/or VirtualDub/AVISynth to be totally confusing and needlessly complex? What's wrong with a GUI, people?)

So... suggestions? I know people do this ALL THE TIME.
