  1. Hi all,
I've converted my entire cd collection to mp3s. All neat in folders for each CD. What's more all those mp3s add up to about 4GB and will fit on one DVD, and my Apex AD660 will pllay DVD+Rs and mp3s.
Is it possible to make one DVDR disk that would contain all my mp3 folders and play on the Apex. I know, this is more hours of music than I'd eer need at one time, but would it be posible to do this?
My first attempt at making a DVD data disk with all the folders in it, gave a "no disk" error on the Apex AD660.
My second attempt by using the "make mp3 disk" button on nero express, gave the same result.
Is there a trick to getting this done?
    thanks!

  2. Not many DVD players support mp3 on DVD, though it is becoming more common. Take a look at the DVD players list to see if anyone else has tried this with your player.

  3. I think the MP3 play back on dvd players is for MP3 CDs. That would be amazing to have 4 Gigs worth of MP3s. I have got an MP3 CD portable. When will they make a MP3 DVD portable. Now that is what I call a lot of songs.

The support for mP3 on DVDR is not there
Because they want the consumer to choose instead the developing
DVD audio format, there's little interst..except among us, for this feature.

Most DVD players will only read a "DVD Video" disk. This means it has to have the DVD Video structure in order for it to play:

    VIDEO_TS Folder
    .ifo Files
    .bup Files
    .vob Files

    AUDIO_TS Folder
    empty

Very few stand alone DVD players play "DVD Data" disks. I was thinking of getting one of these players just to play "DVD MP3's". I believe there is a certain Apex model that will play these. Check out the DVD Players compatibility & users comments link on this site.

  6. Get an ipod. I walk around with 20GB in my pocket every day. I have it on shuffle, and haven't repeated a song in 2 months. You can get an interface that allows you to play it in your stereo, if you want.
