I bought a NEC 1300a a few week ago and I have to say I am impressed. I never burn't a coaster yet!

However I haven't been able to burn at 4x yet. Nero and the other apps all give me the option to burn at 4x when I put in some 4x speed media in the drive.

However

When I use nero and try to burn at 4x speed and use the determine max speed option. The read test never go above 4,000 kbs (3x). How can this be the source data is on my hard drive and I pretty certain a hard drive can access and read data quicker that 4,000kbs lol.

Seeing that 4x dvd writers write at around 5,000kbs no wonder nero down cranks it to 2x speed. (because the source is slower that the dest)

-Is this and nero problem? (however other apps do the same)

-Is this a DVD NEC problem? don't see why because the read speed from the source has got nothing to do with the writer has it?

please help me!
