  1. Does anyone know how to solve problem with no sound using dvd shrink & B's Gold burning software. I can use the B's gold with no problems with other applications so im thinking its something with dvd shrink? Im using the newest version. Thanks!!

  2. Are you sure it's a compatibility problem? Did you try to play the VOB files using a player such as Cyberlink PowerDVD? Could it be that you acidentally told DVDShrink to remove all sound tracks?

  3. Odds are high that the DVD you shrank has a DTS sound track as its primary track. If so, you won't hear any sound unless you have a DTS decoder... until you switch sound channels.

Try using your remote on your standalone to switch sound channels and see if you hear anything.

playing the vobs directly w/ powerDVD/winDVD won't necessarily be accurate...as the playback could result in no sound or any random audio track..even though english is the default audio track...a lot of times, the aspect ratio of the video will also be messed up when playing the vob files directly

so far, i haven't encountered a commercial DVD that made the DTS audio track the default, primary audio track....even though it may be the first aduio track..by default, the DVD will have the dolby digital AC3 track as the default track, since not everyone has the DTS decoder...

    -----------

simple explanantion would be that redvetter00 simply removed the audio tracks...

more complicated would be that redvetter00 removed the AC3 audio track, thinking the DTS audio track would work better than the AC3 (since it's higher quality and bigger filesize)....even though the DTS audio track is present, he prolly doesn't have a decoder card..so it will sound as if no audio track is present...

DVD Shrink, like most of the compression programs does not correct the ifo files to properly reflect the audio streams you select. Unless you select audio stream one you will get no audio on your DVD player unless you cycle thru the audio streams.

i've encountered DVDs where the second, or third, audio stream is the default audio stream...so, the first audio stream may not necessarily be the default
