  1. Hi guys

I made a multi dvd from some svcd's that I downloaded, could these be converted back to mpeg easily or does it mean re-encoding the file again

    TIA

  2. I have no idea what a 'multi DVD' is, however you the VOB files on the DVD are already MPEG2 encode videos. You can demux them to m2v (video) and ac3 (audio, or mp2, or PCM) with most DVD rippers (eg. smartripper or DVD Decrypter).

For smartripper, chose the titleset you want to demux.
    Click on stream processes
    Click on enable stream processes
Click the video stream and choose demux
Then click the desired audio stream and choose demux
Then click run, this will rip and demux the streams to your HD

Now if you actually have a SVCD autored to a DVDR disc, just either copy the MPEG off the disc or use VCDGear/VCDEasy to generate the MEPG from the disc. I think/assume thou that you have a DVD (VOB & IFO files).
