    I am wondering how you folks make a exact copy from a dvd9 (one that someone buy in a shop) to a dvdr?

    Do you rip the movie from the dvd?
    than with a program like instant movie copy, do some things and then burn it to a dvd-r?
    Which program do you use and how do you copy the dvd movie?

    The movies are protected?

    There are several ways to backup a copy of a DVD that you bought. Take a look to the left under 'DVD Rip' there are several guides there.
