Anyone know of how to copy vhs tapes (vcr to vcr) without the macrovision. I looked into a couple of GoVideo decks but they state that they will not copy the encrypted videos. I currently own two vcrs (different brands), tried to cable them together but that did not work for me. Something else I need to add?
Thanks for your time

search the forums for 'sima copy master'. $47 from walmart. I don't use one but it may work.

Thanks for the reply
I don't shop at wal-mart but I'll look around.
btw what is it? -
It's a litte box that you pass the video through in between your two VCR's. It help stabalize and clear up the picture and a byproduct of this is that it kills Macrovision.
I have one. It works.Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side. -
There is info on "Macrovision hacks" on the left. Just click on "DVD hacks" and this includes Macrovision hacks as well.
Try using an old VCR and this thing usually got no macrovision in the system.
An old Beta VCR, Video 8 and VHS should be fine and problem free.
A LD Player is another way to copy a film for your own personal backup and this is excellent as long as you own the orginal and intend to keep it. -
Thanks to all for the replies.
Sima Copy Master looks like the thing I was looking for!
I'll give it a try.
The 'Macrovision hacks' lead me to the sima once again.
