How can this be done? The other way around too. When i take a song i ripped from a CD (44100Hz) and converted it to 48000Hz (to author it to DVD) using CoolEdit Pro, the song (when it plays on the DVD) is sped up. What am i doing wrong?

Laserdiscs are cool, but laserdiscs on DVD-Rs are cooler.

I dont use CoolEdit, but something you did wrong...
I just open the AVI with 48kHz or 44kHz and mark AUDIO, FULL PROCESSING, then choose CONVERSION and make the change...
Afterwards, I choose SAVE WAVE, in File Tab.
I think you can open WAVE files in VirtualDub, like AVI.
