What to use to convert.

I have been trying to use TMPGENc Plus to convert mpg from PAL to NTSC. However, the damn thing keeps crashing at various points before it is complete. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I am able to complete conversion but it takes several attempts to get to go all the way through. ANd it usually goes about an hour and a half to 2 hours before it crashes. Is there any way to fix this and is there another program that is an alternative. The file I am converting is just the video. I seperated the streams and am using the 'video only' option. Thanks for any help you may have.

TMPGenc does a lousy job of converting framerates. I use ProCoder, but it's expensive and not widely used.
