My question, When are they gonna bring in BILL GOLDBERGE to take over the #1 spot. He was the biggest thing WCW had going for them till they tried to hide him below and keep the oldies in the spot. I think thats 1 reason why WCW failed. They took their best talent and shunned him down.

    Yay! Angle won!!
finally they got the belt off SC!!
most of the other matches sucked though, with the exception of RVD vs jericho. still, it was a "capture worthy" free per view...I mean pay per view

  7. Yay! Eventhough it's all FAKE, it's always fun & exciting to watch it. I'm a veteran fan.

Eh, does anyone know what happened to the rest of the WCW wrestlers? How come the rest of 'em aren't wrestling in the WWF, wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, etc?

Me too, 2pac. Even though it's fake it's always interesting to watch to try too figure out how they do some of those moves and keep from getting hurt (at least not too bad).
I also wish that they would bring in some of the other WCW superstars like the Steiners, Goldberg, some of the cruiser weights like Konan and Rey Misterio, Sting, and alot of others. They might just be introducing them gradually like when they brought in Kronic just a couple of weeks ago. Probably just trying to work them in.
Brett Hart retired a long time ago; Hulk Hogan dissappeared after a match with Mike Awesome and Billy Kidman; haven't heard from Scott Hall for a long time even before WCW was bought out
Would be cool if they wrote in the rest of the wrestlers as a third faction like the NWO. Just shows up out of nowhere and does't care about winning titles, they just want to terrorize everybody.

  9. I didn't know there were so many wrestling fans on this forum.. but since I'm a wrestling mark, let me explain the Goldberg/Steiner/Rey Mysterio situation... most of them are asses backstage and WWF doesn't like that.. That's why WCW failed, and why WWF succeeded, people in WWF get along while people in WCW fight each other for real backstage..
On a lighter note, DAMNIT EDGE LOST AGAINST CHRISTIAN!! Wooo! Kurt still won though!!

  10. The reason they're not around has nothing to do with WWF not wanting them around. Anyone with any common sense would know that's not true because they would die to have Goldberg.

The reason they're not around is because they have guarenteed contracted from the WCW days. When WWF bought WCW, many of the top guys still receieved their guarenteed paychecks until the end of their contracts. For example, Goldberg's contract goes until Jan 2004. So why break your contract and wrestle for the WWF (who won't pay as much as WCW did) when you can sit out your contract and recieve $3 million a year for the next three years? You wouldn't. Neither will Goldberg, that's why he's not around. Same for Flair. Rey Jr's lasts till Jan 2002.

Also, Nash's contract lasts until Jan 2002. He's made it clear he wants to go to WWF, but not sooner. Collect the money, spending time with his son, enjoying life. Why bring in Scott Hall now when you could wait till Jan 2002 and bring Hall and Nash in together? You wouldn't. So that's where they are.

Thanks for clearing that up Aoshi. Triple H was in an interview recently on FHM Magazine and when asked about other wrestlers taking cheap shots at each other he said that if you did that you didn't belong in the business because you have to be able to trust the other guy. Many times your safety will be in the hand of your "opponent."

I was also upset when the Rockers split. Coolest tag team ever. What ever happened to HBK Shawn Michaels? Head he was injured but was supposed to come back last year. I really miss the 80's Wrestlers like Demolition, Don "The Rock" Morroco, Ravishing Rick Rude, the original Hart Foundation, Jimmy Snooka, Rick Martel, British Bulldogs, Brutus Beefcake Andre the Giant (RIP). I could go on forever.
I'll never forget the impression the Undertaker made during his debut in Surviror Series. I thought he was real creepy but cool. He's really changed alot over the years, not to mention that gut he's cultivated over the years.
Ever wonder what happened to those lesser known wrestlers like Paul Roma or Jim Powers?

Sid's still going through rehab after that broken leg (honest accident) against Scott Steiner aka Big Pappa Pump. Doink is actually living here in Colorado where he's a trainer at a wrestling school.
Yokozuna was one bad mofo, probably the biggest wrestler weight-wise to come to WWF.
What happened to Ahmed Johnson? That guy was pretty much a black version of Goldberg, muscles and all and he just disappeared. Too bad alot of my favorites come and go. Vader got the boot because he couldn't loose the weight requested by the WWF, Big Mark Henry is just plain gone, Droz tragically suffered a broken neck and is in a wheelchair.
One thing that is commendable was in an interview DDP advised people who were considering to become wrestlers to get some other career first to fall back on in case it didn't work out or they were severly injured.
Alot of close calls happen and we don't even know it. One time Stone Cold was up agianst Owen Hart and the match was supposed to end with Owen pile-driving Steve. Unfortunately his head was lower that it should and about 400lbs came crashing down on his neck.
What about announcers? I wis that they'd bring Mean Gene back, I always liked the sound of his voice. I especially liked when Bobby "The Brain" was a commentator, he had some really funny cracks compared to the dullness of these guys today.

  22. I agree with you Bulworth, Gene Okerlund did have a nice recognizable voice.

My favorite of all time is "The Ultimate Warrior" from the WWF and the best tag team is "The Rockers", Marty & Shawn. And last, but not least... the best looking girl of all time is Sunny & Trish Stratis. Hahahaha!

    Amen to that.
Oh, apart from Mr T... Mr T was my favorite because he was Mr T, but The Ultimate Warrior was my "real" favorite.

Dont watch much now though; too much bullsh1t going on. Whatever happened to Hogans era - then a fight was a fight!
