I installed it in a firewire external enclosure. How do I get Window XP to recognize it as a DVD-ROM drive? It is simply recognizing it as a removing hardware. I bought the retail version but it did not include a installation disc, just the PowerDVD disc. Any help will be appreciated.

Hmm...
Try going to Lite-On's website and get the latest drivers. Uninstall the stuff windows installed, restart and install the downloaded driver.
That's all I can think of...

I couldn't even find the updated firmware at Liteon's website. I thought Windows XP would recognize it automatically....

As long as the drive is functioning don't worry about what Windows call it.All external drives will show up as "removal devices"and there are no drivers to remedy what Windows says, only drivers required are for external enclosure.

DVD decrypter does not recognize it as a DVD-ROM drive, so I am unable to use it to decrypt the DVD.
