  1. For example I have The Jungle Book 2.m2v
    The Jungle Book 2.ac3
    TMPGEnc will not accept the .ac3 file I know how to do it in stereo but I want 5 channels.
    Some people say you can do it with TMPEG but how I have tryed everything.
    I have tryed with Ifo edit095 DVD auther/auther new dvd but all I get is hissss.
    I have seen articals about ac3Fix but how do you use it.
    What does this meen ? (Then run AC3Fix on the outputted files (windows->run->cmd... browse to your dir and run ac3fix /? ) does anyone know of any instructions for ac3fix ? when ever i try to open it from the run command a dos box opens for about 1/100th of a second.
    I have also tryed this
    Changing you’re Ulead DVD workshop 1.2-1.3 into a DVD Workshop AC3

    First you searh for the file: DVDWS.ini
    ( by XP i’ts mostly in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD Workshop\1.0)
    You can open it with notepad....
    ( maybe you have to change you hidden files option, so that you can see all you’re files)

    There search for this line..

    PlayAC3=0

    Change it in

    PlayAC3=1

    Now below that one, you make a new one ( see below)

    ADVANCE=1

    Closed the file, and save the changings..

    Now you can load without any problems an Mpeg with ac3 sound in it.
    .When you choose for “Make Disk/Customize” that there is a new Advanced option,
    where you can change the settings and bitrate etc for a AC3 file..

    b.t.w. You can Mux a Mpeg2 file and a AC3 file toghether with TMPGEnc ( file/mpeg tools/Simple Multiplex) HOW !!!!!!!!

    Someone please help me.

    You need to verify that your ac3 file is good first.

    If you have an ac3 playback filter (any software/hardware dvd player) play the file with that.

    If all you get is hiss, then the ac3 file is no good.

    If the file was originally muxed with an avi, it probally has a wav header. This needs to be removed.

    Search the guides for how to do this.

  3. Can Tmpeg mux ac3 ?. Didnt know it could. Anyway to mux ac3 n m2v id use Ifoedit. Its free !..It will mux the 2 together n build the complete DVD files u need to make a dvd..its simple !

    Or of course you could use DVD authoring software..Id suggest Spruce Up or DVD LAB if you wanna keep things simple.

  4. See the "Author" guides to the left. You need to author the DVD to generate a VIDEO_TS folder then burn this folder to a DVDR. There are several programs that can do this.

    If all you want is the movie (no extras, menus, etc). IFOEdit can mux the m2v + ac3. IFOEdit is freeware, but very basic (when it comes to authoring, great for other stuff). DVD Lab is a popular choice (30day fully fuctional trail verison for d/load). As is TMPGenc Author.

    After that prices jump up with Scenarist and maestro being amoung the best (and most expensive).

  6. Thanks for the input but.
    You may need to run the AC3 stream through ac3fix.exe first as vdub appends a wav header. ??????
    Can anyone tell me how to use ac3fix.exe so i can append the wave header or is there another way.
    My .m2v was created with tmpeg from a divx, the .ac3 was striped from the divx with virtual dub I WANT TO KEEP ALL 5 CHANNELS.

  7. Ive done it with this guide that i have changed slightly works fine .

    Now Launch BBMPEG (the AVI2MPG2.EXE)

    Note! If you are using WinXP be sure to first press Load in the main window under Input Project and then press Cancel or else will BBMpeg crash when you open files.
    Click directly on Start Encoding(even if it says Encoding BBMPEG won't encode anything just multiplex and cut the video).
    Click on Settings.
    Under Input and Output Files
    First select the m2v(video) under Open VS.
    Then select the m2a(audio) under Open AS1
    And last select where to save the new cutted MPG under Open PS.
    Under Pogram Stream settings you just select MPEG 2.
    And under the Generel Settings is the actually cutting.
    1. Select Multiplex video
    2. Select Multiplex audio.
    hit
    Now Click on the Start.

    Done.

    Problems

    BBMpeg crashes when I load/open a file
    If you are using Windows XP be sure to first press Load in the main window under Input Project and then press Cancel before doing anything else.
