hey, i'm new to the forum! how is it going yall? well enough chit chat.haha! i have a question, but first a little about myself. i'm a 21 yr old surfer from indiana. i enjoy dancing, reading, and all around fun for the whole family i.e. disney movies, wrestling, and watching game show network. as of recently though i've been addicted to a little thing called DVD's; you all might've heard of them. anyways then i found out about a thing called instant copy and being the big geek i am i decided well i better make backups of all my dvd's. so far i've been burning from about 4 months and i haven't had too many problems except for the other day. i was going to make a backup of my Black Adder Collection i got to disc 3 and well...i've had some troubles.

here's the message i've been getting: (Warning: 4.50 GB free disc space required but only 3.43 GB are available Delete files to gain free disc space and press "retry" or "abort" to stop the operation.) BLAH BLAH BLAH!
anybody know what the hell i should do?! it's driving me CRAZY!!! i've tried the only things i know to do which amounts to reinstalling the program over and over and trying different dvdr's. if anybody has had this problem and knows how to fix it let me know. also tell me if i'm a total jackass.
thanks yall
p.s. keep watching teeny bop idols! clay is so HOT! he's on the new RS if you didn't already know.word up yall! keep on truckin' and rockin' in the free world G's. i wanna give a shout out to all my homedoggies in the cribs keepin' in ganstarific style. PEACE!

"Warning: 4.50 GB free disc space required but only 3.43 GB are available Delete files to gain free disc space "
Why don't you try to Delete some files YOU JACKASS!
HAHAHA -
First off a ten minute intro is not necessary. Secondly change your diaper and try talking like an adult. You won't find any help here unless you grow up.
Get the message?

wow! what the hell. i come here all friendly and stuff and all i get are not friendly remarks. jeez louise! well i'm sorry for not being "something".
i shouldn't have to delete files. if anybody here knows about Instant Copy reply to this message. anybody else "get a life". i don't need your stupid remarks or whatever, 'cus you don't know what you're talking about. i have been using Instant Copy for 4 1/2 months now. how long have you been using it?! huh?! how long! 2 days?! 4 3/4 hours?! probably more like never!sorry for being stupid! i just thought somebody here would know how to help me solve my problem. which is obviously a problem w/ either the program or the dvdr's i'm using. 'cus #1 Instant Copy compresses the files automatically to fit on one dvd. which is a max/min of 4.50 GB. it's telling me for some reason that my dvdr's are 3.44 GB and that is a problem i haven't had. so if you know the problem tell me the answer.

I think the message you're getting pertains to the available space on your hard disk, or hard drive, and not the DVD disk. You need to get rid of some files on your hard drive. Better yet, you can buy a second hard drive and get a lot more space for your programs and files.
You can get a 160GB Maxtor hard disk for around $100 after rebates. -
And yes, you'll still have your problem tomorrow! Once again your language dictates your age. You would have already received an answer to your problem, but won't given the tone in your posts. If you don't get the point this time all is lost for you.

Lets go the short route here. Yes As previously posted, your message pertains to the available space on your source hard disk (i.e. the one where Instant copy writes the files too). Has nothing to do with your media. Check the available space on your hard drive. Either free up some space on that drive or place your folder in another hardrive that has enough space. But of course you've been using this program for 4 1/2 months and are an expert. Go fix your problem now.

p.s. a blank DVD is not 4.5Gb either, its 4.37Gb -
Hah, the IC KING... I liked that...
Born to frag... whoops, wrong forum. :) -
thanks for attempting to answer my question, but you all are wrong again.
i have 65 GB of free space on my HD. that should be enough to do the job. i think i've figured out the problem though...INSTANT COPY SUCKS!
now i'm using CloneDVD much faster and not as stupid. i'm still opened to answers on how to fix Instant Copy though.
here's another problem i've been having: certain DVD's i burn will not play on any DVD player. on my computer it tells me that the disc/file is corrupted. wassup wit dat?my only guess is DVD Decrypter is being dumb w/ certain titles: Futurama disc 1, Black Adder disc 3, and Mr. Bean disc 2. anybody had problems like this or problems w/ these DVD's?

i recently got in on a deal for the 160 gig Maxtor 7200 rpm 8 mb cache w/ free ATA133 controller card (only $80 after MIR). believe me, even that has seen some hdd space problems. a couple of movies stored on there eats away hdd space like crazy because you need to store both the original and the compressed version, which could easily be near 15 gig/movie

one last thing though, have you tried saving it to the HD instead of direct to the DVD and does it still say the same thing?
and what burner & OS have you got? -
This same guy was over on the xbox-scene.com forums. Too lazy to look up the thread. He's pretty funny or at least he thinks he is. Personally I think he should videotape himself doing stand-up comedy and watch himself on TV...I'm sure he'll get a kick and manage to squeeze by in life.

Wow this has gotten way out of hand. Atomic, i do believe what people are trying to say is that your acting like a child. If you want your answer to your problem you must supply people with more details. I have read through all the posts and some people have asked you questions that you have failed to answer. These questions have been asked so that they can help further t-shoot your problem to narrow down what the issue may be.
First off : What O/S you have ?
2nd : Have you checked you drive space ? Like someone else has stated, if you havnt deleted older movies that have been finished then it will be easy to run out of space with only 65 gigs.
3rd : If your problem persists, then reinstall the software. I dont think the reinstall is your answer, i think it has something to do with where your saving your movie to.
4th : Your error is very self explanitory, the place your trying to save your movie to is full and some files need to be deleted from that area.
Note: Warning: 4.50 GB free disc space required but only 3.43 GB are available Delete files to gain free disc space and press "retry" or "abort" to stop the operation
Like i said, if you want your question to be answered then you need to help by answering our questions so we can further t-shoot with you. -

So in my case I simply copied some files from my C drive to my D drive to make room on the C drive. Luckily I had plenty of FREE space on D so it was no "biggie" to just MOVE some files over to it.
It really sounds like the error you are getting has SOMETHING to do with your FREE HDD space.
By the way ... you are an annoying **** but you don't have many posts and therefore are a "newbie" here so I have decided to give you the benefit of the doubt ... hence my attempt here to help you.
Just stop being so ******* annoying.
And thank us for the help :P
