Am looking for advice from Sony 510 owners as to the best DVD media they would recommend. I have read memorex brand has been a problem with some users.
Any advice on compatible media brands with this dual format burner would be appreciated!

Before my 510 gave up and died i wrote to the following successfully and read successfully with my dvd rom drive :-
4 or 5 Datawrite Red 4x
1 Zero Defex 1x Speed
1 Paradox 1x Speed
1 BulkPaq 1x Speed
1 Verbatim 2x Speed
1 TDK 2x Speed
1 Maxell 2x Speed
1 Intenso 1x Speed
1 DataWrite 2x Speed
1 BulkPaq 2x Speed
1 Maxell DVD+RW 2.4x Erased and Wrote to twice
All are DVD-R.
All worte with REcord Now DX except one (Unbranded) which was written to by MyDVD.
I have heard that Datawrite Red have the best compatibility. I hope they have I have another 20 Disks to burn when I get my replacement drive. -
I'd make a difference between DVD-Video and just data.
If it's for DVD-Video I go Verbatim all the way. Costs more, but you get what you pay for. Certainly if you have a picky DVD player.
Princo 1x, 2, 4x, DataWrite 1x,... I keep them for data.
I also found that the Princo 4x is much better than the Princo 2x.
Atm, I'm also satisfied about Nashua for DVD-Video, but I can only find Nashua 1x :/ Which is reeaally slow if you're used to 4x.Sony DRU-500A v1.0d
